Description

Rich and full of flavor, these cookies combine brown butter with coffee and toffee for a delightful sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup All purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Heath toffee bits with chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Flaked Sea salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Espresso powder
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and browned butter in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, espresso powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the toffee bits.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  8. Sprinkle flaked sea salt on top of each cookie.
  9. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Watch the butter while browning to avoid burning. Use room temperature egg for better mixing.
