Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, cream cheese, parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Roll out crescent roll dough and seal seams. Cut into 4×4 inch squares.
- Place 2 tablespoons of filling in center of each square. Fold corners and seal.
- Place seam-side down on greased baking sheet. Brush with egg wash if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in flour to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk, add bouillon cube, and stir until thickened.
- Add grated parmesan and season with salt.
- Serve chicken pillows warm, drizzled with parmesan sauce and optional parsley garnish.
Notes
You can add veggies like spinach or mushrooms to the filling. Use rotisserie chicken for convenience. Chicken pillows can be frozen before baking.
