Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup ditalini pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until onion is translucent.
- Pour in chicken broth and diced tomatoes; bring to a boil.
- Stir in ditalini pasta and cook until al dente.
- Reduce heat and mix in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For extra flavor, brown the sausage well. Use low-sodium broth if adding extra salt or salty cheese. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze without pasta for up to 2 months.
