Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 8 oz whipped topping
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • Additional whipped topping for topping
  • Crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the crust: Crush chocolate cookies and mix with melted butter. Press into a 9×13 pan and chill.
  2. Whip the peppermint cream: Beat cream cheese until smooth, add powdered sugar and peppermint extract, then fold in whipped topping.
  3. Spread peppermint cream over the crust and chill briefly.
  4. Prepare pudding: Whisk chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until thick, then spread over the peppermint layer.
  5. Top with whipped topping and garnish with crushed candy canes.
  6. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

This dessert can be made a day in advance and is perfect for potlucks. Adjust peppermint extract to taste.
