Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 8 oz whipped topping
- 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- Additional whipped topping for topping
- Crushed candy canes for garnish
Instructions
- Make the crust: Crush chocolate cookies and mix with melted butter. Press into a 9×13 pan and chill.
- Whip the peppermint cream: Beat cream cheese until smooth, add powdered sugar and peppermint extract, then fold in whipped topping.
- Spread peppermint cream over the crust and chill briefly.
- Prepare pudding: Whisk chocolate pudding mix with cold milk until thick, then spread over the peppermint layer.
- Top with whipped topping and garnish with crushed candy canes.
- Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
This dessert can be made a day in advance and is perfect for potlucks. Adjust peppermint extract to taste.
