Ingredients

  • 20 thin slices of deli salami (about 2–3 inches wide)
  • 8 oz (225 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives or green onion
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 2–3 sliced dill pickles, finely chopped or thin strips of roasted red pepper
  • Optional garnish: smoked paprika or fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Make the filling by mixing cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chives, Dijon, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Prepare the salami slices by laying them flat on a clean board.
  4. Assemble each roll-up by placing about 1 teaspoon of filling across the edge of the salami slice and rolling it tightly.
  5. Chill the roll-ups seam-down on a plate in the fridge for 10–20 minutes.
  6. Slice each roll if desired and serve.

Notes

Use chilled salami for easier rolling and ensure the cream cheese is softened adequately for easy spreading. Adjust spices to taste.
