A delicious meatloaf filled with gooey mozzarella cheese, seasoned beef, and Italian herbs, perfect for family meals or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ground beef
- 0.5 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup marinara sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until just combined.
- Shape the meat mixture into a rectangle on parchment paper and place cubed mozzarella in the center. Roll up the meat to encase the cheese.
- Place in a greased baking dish and top with marinara sauce.
- Bake for about 1 hour, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
Keep the mozzarella cubes cold and avoid overmixing the meat. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
