Description

A delightful dessert with sweet and rich flavors that impresses on any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 large Egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp pure Honey
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp pure Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Almonds
  • 1 cup unsalted Butter
  • 1 tbsp Heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups Whole milk

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the active dry yeast with warm milk and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, beat the egg, egg yolks, honey, and vanilla.
  3. Add the flour, sugar, and salt to the egg mixture and mix well. Then add the yeast mixture and combine until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Roll out the dough onto a greased baking pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. For the topping, melt the butter in a pan, add honey, and stir in the cream.
  10. Pour the topping over the cake and sprinkle with almonds.
  11. Bake again for 10-15 minutes until bubbly and caramelized.
  12. Allow cooling before cutting into pieces and serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, toast the almonds slightly before adding them as a topping.
