Spicy Dragon Chicken

Description

An easy and bold dish featuring marinated chicken stir-fried with chili garlic sauce and topped with sesame seeds.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Boneless Skinless Chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Ginger
  • 1 Green onion
  • 1 Thin strips Onion or bell pepper, Fried
  • 1 piece Egg white
  • 1 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 Red chilies or crushed red pepper flakes, Dried
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate chicken with soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sugar or honey, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan, and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through.
  4. Mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry and add to the pan.
  5. Stir in ketchup, egg white, and vegetables, cooking until the sauce thickens.
  6. Add sesame oil, vinegar, and adjust seasoning with salt and red chilies.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

Cut chicken into even pieces for uniform cooking. Use high heat for a slight char on the chicken. Add cornstarch slurry slowly for desired sauce thickness.
