Description
An easy and bold dish featuring marinated chicken stir-fried with chili garlic sauce and topped with sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Boneless Skinless Chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tbsp Garlic
- 1 tbsp Ginger
- 1 Green onion
- 1 Thin strips Onion or bell pepper, Fried
- 1 piece Egg white
- 1 tbsp Chili garlic sauce
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Sugar or honey
- 1/2 cup Tomato ketchup
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/4 cup Cornstarch
- 2 Red chilies or crushed red pepper flakes, Dried
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp Toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate chicken with soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sugar or honey, and black pepper for 15 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan, and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry until cooked through.
- Mix cornstarch with water to form a slurry and add to the pan.
- Stir in ketchup, egg white, and vegetables, cooking until the sauce thickens.
- Add sesame oil, vinegar, and adjust seasoning with salt and red chilies.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
Notes
Cut chicken into even pieces for uniform cooking. Use high heat for a slight char on the chicken. Add cornstarch slurry slowly for desired sauce thickness.
