Ingredients
  

Batter Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
Frying Ingredients
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  4. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature. For longer storage, freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in a hot oven or air fryer to maintain crispness.
