Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Lightly oil a baking dish or sheet pan, or line it with foil or parchment.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Rub both sides with olive oil, then season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
Cooking
- Place the chicken in a single layer with a little space between pieces.
- Bake until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F, about 16 to 20 minutes for small to medium breasts, or 20 to 26 minutes for large thick breasts.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, brush chicken with BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of baking. You can also add lemon slices or sprinkle cheese in the last few minutes for added richness.
