Preparation
- In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and corn starch.
- Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Let the pudding cool slightly for 5 minutes.
Layering
- In a large serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture, repeating until all ingredients are used.
- Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form and spread it on top of the pudding.
- Garnish with additional banana slices if desired.
Chilling
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Best served chilled. The flavors improve after a few hours in the fridge.
