Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1.5 cups finely crushed graham crackers
  • 0.5 cups melted butter for mixing with crushed crackers to form the crust
Filling
  • 2 boxes instant butterscotch pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk use cold for best results
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping fold into pudding mixture
  • 0.5 cups chopped nuts optional, for topping
  • Chocolate shavings or sauce for garnish, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine finely crushed graham crackers and melted butter in a mixing bowl until well combined, then press into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the butterscotch pudding mix and milk until it thickens.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully blended.
  4. Pour the butterscotch filling into the prepared crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
  6. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to set.
  7. Before serving, add chocolate shavings or drizzle chocolate sauce on top.

Notes

Press the crust firmly to hold together. Use cold milk for faster thickening. Chill longer for a firmer pie. Nuts should be added last for crunch.
