Ingredients

For the crust
  • 220 g vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 57 g melted butter Salted or unsalted
For the filling
  • 500 g apples, peeled and chopped Firm apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Gala work best
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
For the topping
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought works fine
  • Whipped cream For topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped apples with cinnamon and set aside to let those flavors mingle.
  3. In another bowl, combine the vanilla wafer crumbs with the melted butter until it resembles wet sand.
  4. Press this crumb mixture into the bottom of your serving cups to create a delicious little crust.
  5. Fill the cups generously with the cinnamon-spiced apples.
  6. Drizzle the caramel sauce all over the apples for extra sweetness.
Baking
  1. Pop them in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the apples are tender and fragrant.
  2. Once they’re out of the oven and cooled just a bit, crown each cup with a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Let cups cool fully and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a warm oven for a few minutes if you want them warm again. Use firm apples for best results and cut them in even pieces for consistent cooking.
