Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the batter.
- Dollop the remaining batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan before slicing into bars.
Notes
For a stronger cinnamon taste, consider adding more cinnamon to the swirl mix.
