Method
Cooking the Bacon
- Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy, then remove to paper towels.
Toasting the Bread
- Toast the sourdough bread with butter in the same skillet until golden brown.
Assembling the Sandwich
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
- Layer the first slice of bread with lettuce, tomatoes, sliced avocado, chicken breast, bacon, and one slice of cheese.
- Top with a second slice of bread and repeat the layering (lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, bacon, cheese).
- Finish with the final slice of bread, mayo side down.
- Cut the sandwich in halves or quarters, securing with toothpicks if desired.
Notes
Store assembled sandwiches in the fridge for up to 24 hours. For best texture, store components separately.
