Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cubed Look for a well-marbled steak for flavor and tenderness.
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice Follow package instructions for perfect fluffiness.
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Fresh vegetables ensure vibrancy.
  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic enhances flavor.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Consider gluten-free soy sauce if needed.
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce Substitute with vegetable broth for a vegan version.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil Adds a finishing touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by cooking the jasmine rice according to package instructions. Aim for fluffy rice, which typically takes around 15-20 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with salt and black pepper, and sear for 3-4 minutes until a nice caramelized crust forms.
  3. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside. In the same skillet, add butter, then onion, followed by broccoli, zucchini, bell pepper, and carrots. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  4. Add minced garlic, soy sauce, and oyster sauce to the pan, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Keep stirring to avoid burning.
  5. On each plate, layer warm jasmine rice, a generous portion of sautéed veggies, and top with seared steak. Drizzle with sesame oil before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, enjoying the contrast of warm steak and cool veggies. A light cucumber salad or crispy garlic bread pairs well.
Storage
  1. Crispy Garlic Steak Rice Bowl can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
  2. When ready to eat, thaw overnight and reheat gently in a skillet.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate steak before cooking. Avoid overcooking the vegetables to keep them tender-crisp.
