  • 2 large cucumbers Opt for fresh cucumbers for the best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped Fresh dill enhances the flavor.
  • 1/2 medium red onion, thinly sliced Adds a slight sweetness.
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sour cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt.
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar Lime juice can be used for a zesty twist.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Be sure to taste and adjust seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the cucumbers thinly, aiming for about 1/8-inch thick.
  2. Place sliced cucumbers in a large mixing bowl and add chopped dill and thinly sliced red onion.
Dressing Preparation
  1. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream, white vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Assembly
  1. Pour the dressing over the cucumber mixture and gently toss to combine.
  2. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled, noting that cucumbers may release some liquid.

Notes

To keep the salad fresh, add the dressing right before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
