  • 1/2 cup honey Use pure honey for best results.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Tamari or coconut aminos can be used for gluten-free.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Ensure garlic is firm and not sprouting.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Good quality olive oil has a mild taste.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the salt according to the saltiness of the soy sauce.
  • Chopped green onions for garnish Choose bright green tops.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Add chicken thighs and coat well with the marinade, ensuring each thigh is evenly covered.
  3. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cooking
  1. Place the marinated chicken in a baking dish in a single layer and pour any leftover marinade over the meat.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  3. Optionally, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to caramelize the top.
  4. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped green onions, and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve over steamed white rice with pan sauce. This chicken pairs well with various sides such as steamed vegetables or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
