Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup Warm milk Not hot, should be like bath water.
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry or instant yeast Both types work.
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar To help activate the yeast.
  • 1 large Egg For richness.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter, melted Plus more for brushing.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3-4 cups All-purpose flour Add until a soft, tacky dough forms.

Method

Preparation
  1. Warm the milk and stir in the sugar and yeast. Wait until it looks foamy.
  2. Mix in the egg, melted butter, and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
Shaping
  1. Gently press the dough down to release the air and cut into equal pieces.
  2. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place them in a buttered pan with space in between.
  3. Cover and let them rise again until puffy.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls until golden.
  2. Immediately brush with more melted butter after removing from the oven.

Notes

The dough should remain a little tacky; do not add too much flour. Adjust rising times based on your kitchen temperature. For extra shine, brush with milk or egg wash before baking.
