Preparation
- Wash the potato well to remove dirt.
- Poke the potato 8 to 10 times with a fork to let steam escape.
- Lightly rub the potato with oil and sprinkle salt, if desired.
Cooking
- Place the potato on a microwave-safe plate.
- Microwave for half the cooking time, flip the potato, then microwave for the remaining time (approx 7-9 minutes for a medium potato).
- Allow the potato to rest for 1-2 minutes after microwaving.
- Slice open the potato and fluff the inside with a fork.
Optional Skin Upgrade
- If desired, move the potato to a hot skillet or toaster oven for 2 minutes to crisp the skin.
