  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Use room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 2 cups water Use as directed on the cake mix box.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil Can substitute with the amount indicated on the cake mix box.
  • 3 pieces eggs Optional, adds moisture.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips For topping the cake.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven following the instructions on the cake mix box.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the chocolate cake mix, creamy peanut butter, and water until everything is well blended and smooth.
  3. Pour this delightful chocolatey mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips generously on top of the batter.
  5. If desired, whisk together the eggs and oil, then drizzle this mixture atop the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake according to the suggested time on the cake mix box, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Let the cake cool before serving.

Notes

Store the cake at room temperature for 1-2 days, or in the fridge for up to 5 days. To freeze, wrap pieces in foil and place them in a freezer bag for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge or at room temperature.
