Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 4 large eggs Use room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Replace with gluten-free blend for gluten-free version
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
For the Peanut Butter Cheesecake Layer
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Warm if too thick
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Use room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and cocoa powder, then fold into the butter mixture until combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Making the Cheesecake Layer
  1. In another bowl, blend together peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Spread the peanut butter mixture over the brownie layer.
  3. Spoon the remaining brownie batter over the peanut butter layer and swirl with a knife.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  2. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate before serving. Store in an airtight container.
