- Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan.

- Once clear, remove from heat and let cool.
- Pour into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate.
Flavoring (Optional)
- If desired, add citrus peel, vanilla, cinnamon, or herbs to the warm syrup and let sit for 10-20 minutes.
- Strain out flavor additives before storing.
Notes
Store simple syrup in the fridge for 3 to 4 weeks. If you see cloudiness or floating bits, discard. Use a clean jar to prevent spoilage.
