Ingredients
  

For the rice
  • 2 cups basmati rice Cook according to package instructions
  • 1/2 cup peas Mix into rice in the last few minutes of cooking
  • 1 medium carrot, diced Add to rice for flavor and texture
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped Mix in with the rice
For the stir-fry
  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or flank steak) Choose high-quality beef for best flavor
  • 1/2 medium green bell pepper, sliced Adds color and crunch
  • 1/2 medium yellow bell pepper, sliced Adds color and sweetness
  • 1/2 medium red bell pepper, sliced Adds color and sweetness
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances the flavor of the stir-fry
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce For seasoning
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce For a rich sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch For thickening the sauce
  • 2 tbsp water To mix with cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For cooking
  • 1 tsp black pepper For seasoning beef
  • Salt to taste Salt Season beef to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped green onions For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the basmati rice according to package instructions. In the last few minutes, mix in the peas, diced carrots, and chopped onions.
  2. Season the beef strips with black pepper and salt.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sliced peppers. Sauté until peppers are soft and garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Once peppers are softened, add the seasoned beef to the pan. Cook until browned, making sure not to crowd the pan.
  3. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Pour into the pan and stir well. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
Serving
  1. Serve the sizzling beef stir-fry next to the veggie rice on a plate. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the beef strips in soy sauce and garlic for at least 30 minutes before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
