Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Thinly slice the sirloin steak into strips. The thinner the strips, the quicker they cook, allowing for a tender bite.
- Combine steak with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Cut the potatoes into thick fries, then soak them in cold water for 15 minutes. This removes excess starch for crispy results.
- Dust the dried potatoes with cornstarch before frying or baking.
Cooking
- Fry or bake the fries at 425°F for 30 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. The oil should shimmer.
- Add the marinated steak strips to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 3-4 minutes until browned.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until fragrant and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return the seared steak to the skillet and mix well.
Assembly
- In a bowl, toss together chopped romaine, cucumber slices, and halved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice.
- Serve the steak and peppers alongside the golden fries and fresh salad.
Notes
This dish can be customized with different vegetables or spices. For a vegan version, replace the steak with mushrooms or tofu.
