  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce For marinade.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce For marinade.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
For the Fries
  • 4 large potatoes Starchy varieties like Russets work best.
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch For crispy fries.
For the Salad
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, for salad
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Method

Preparation
  1. Thinly slice the sirloin steak into strips. The thinner the strips, the quicker they cook, allowing for a tender bite.
  2. Combine steak with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Cut the potatoes into thick fries, then soak them in cold water for 15 minutes. This removes excess starch for crispy results.
  4. Dust the dried potatoes with cornstarch before frying or baking.
Cooking
  1. Fry or bake the fries at 425°F for 30 minutes until golden and crispy.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. The oil should shimmer.
  3. Add the marinated steak strips to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  4. In the same skillet, add sliced onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until fragrant and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Return the seared steak to the skillet and mix well.
Assembly
  1. In a bowl, toss together chopped romaine, cucumber slices, and halved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice.
  2. Serve the steak and peppers alongside the golden fries and fresh salad.
