  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Can reduce for lower sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure extract preferred.
  • 2 large eggs Bring to room temperature.
Add-ins
  • 3/4 cup colorful sprinkles Nonpareils or jimmies recommended.

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until no clumps remain.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and slightly fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and then mix in vanilla extract.
Mixing
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring on low until just combined.
  2. Gently fold in the colorful sprinkles, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden but centers are slightly underbaked.
  3. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 3-5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chew, use a mix of light brown and granulated sugar. Cool cookies on a wire rack to maintain softness.
