Ingredients

For the steak and fries
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks Choose high-quality steaks with good marbling.
  • 4 large potatoes Starchy varieties like Russets are ideal for frying.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with avocado oil for a dietary alternative.
For the garlic aioli
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Substitute with vegan mayonnaise for a plant-based version.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For garnish
  • Fresh parsley Adds color and flavor.

Method

Prepare the Potatoes
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the potatoes into fries and soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. After soaking, drain the potatoes and pat them dry.
Season and Bake the Fries
  1. Toss the dried potatoes in olive oil, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  2. Spread them in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway until golden and crispy.
Cook the Ribeye Steaks
  1. Season the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Grill or pan-sear the steaks over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for a perfect medium-rare doneness.
  3. Ensure the steaks are browned on the outside and still slightly firm to the touch.
Make the Garlic Aioli
  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Mix until smooth to create a flavorful garlic aioli.
Serve
  1. Let the cooked steaks rest briefly before slicing.
  2. Serve the ribeye steaks hot alongside the crispy fries, with the garlic aioli on the side for dipping. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Ensure fries are in a single layer for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer for steak doneness.
