Ingredients

For the main dish
  • 1 lb beef steak, cut into strips Choose a tender cut like sirloin or ribeye.
  • 2 large potatoes (or frozen fries) Opt for starchy varieties for the crispiest fries.
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
For the sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Ensure gluten-free if needed.
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce Use a vegan alternative for vegan version.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Method

Cooking the Fries
  1. If using potatoes, peel and cut them into thick fries. Deep fry or bake until golden brown and crispy.
  2. If using frozen fries, follow package instructions until crispy.
Searing the Steak
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Avoid overcooking to prevent a chewy texture; aim for medium to medium-rare.
Sautéing the Veggies
  1. Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the pan with the steak. Cook until the veggies are tender-crisp and vibrant, about 4-5 minutes.
Making the Sauce
  1. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss everything until well-coated.
Plating and Serving
  1. Serve the steak and vegetable mixture alongside the crispy fries.
  2. Arrange the veggies over the steak for a colorful presentation.
