Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Thinly sliced beef Choose high-quality beef for better flavor.
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs (like rosemary and thyme) Opt for fresh herbs for the best taste.
  • 1/2 cup Cream or sour cream Coconut cream can be used for dairy-free versions.
  • 1 cup Beef broth Use homemade for a richer flavor; gluten-free broth can be substituted.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season generously.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For searing the meat.
  • as needed Optional fillings (like sautéed vegetables or cheese) Fillings should not be too bulky.

Method

Preparation
  1. Lay the thinly sliced beef out flat, ensuring the slices are even for uniform cooking.
  2. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and minced garlic over the beef and let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. Distribute optional fillings like sautéed vegetables or cheese evenly across the beef.
  4. Starting from one end, tightly roll the beef while tucking in the sides.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and sear the rolled beef until browned on all sides.
  2. In the same pan, add beef broth and fresh herbs, scraping up any browned bits.
  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then return the roll to the pan, cover, and cook until the meat is tender.
Serving
  1. Serve the rolled meat hot, drizzled with sauce. Pair with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.

Notes

For best results, marinate the meat overnight to deepen flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
