Ingredients

For the Steak
  • 2 pieces beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye) Choose well-marbled cuts for best flavor.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt For seasoning steaks.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Caramelized Onions
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter For caramelizing.
  • 1 tsp brown sugar To enhance sweetness.
  • Pinch salt
For the Sides
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 cups cooked black beans
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lb French fries
  • 2 pieces eggs Fried on top of the dish.
  • 1 tbsp butter For frying eggs.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Add fries in batches and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions, and stir occasionally for about 20 minutes, until they turn a rich golden brown.
  3. Season both sides of the steaks generously with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Heat olive oil in another skillet, then sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side or until a nice crust forms.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine black beans with minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a separate skillet with butter, fry the eggs until the whites are set, roughly 2-3 minutes.
Assembly
  1. On each plate, place the cooked steak alongside a serving of fluffy rice, seasoned black beans, and crispy fries. Top with a fried egg, fresh tomato slices, and chopped parsley for a burst of color.

Notes

Consider marinating the steaks for deeper flavor and soaking fries in water before frying for extra crispiness. Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to three days.
