  1. Wash and hull the strawberries well.
  2. Put the berries into a clean jar or bowl.
  3. Sprinkle sugar over the strawberries so they are covered.
  4. Seal the jar or cover the bowl and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of days.
  5. Once the strawberries have released their juices and look syrupy, they are ready to be enjoyed.

Notes

Serve strawberrries over ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or toast, and use the syrup as a sauce for cakes or drinks. Store in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
