Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, peel and slice the Granny Smith apples and toss them with apple cider. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar together.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream, and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the sliced apples and pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow it to cool in the pan before serving.
Notes
Serve slices warm on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For best taste, warm slices slightly before serving.
