Ingredients
  

For the Steak and Shrimp
  • 2 pieces ribeye or sirloin steaks (10 oz each) Look for steaks with good marbling.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For seasoning the steaks.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh, firm shrimp yield the best texture.
  • 2 tbsp butter For cooking the shrimp.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Fresh lemon juice is preferred.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped For garnish.
For the Seasoned Fries
  • 4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries Soak in cold water for crispiness.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp paprika For seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cut fries with vegetable oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Spread the fries evenly on a baking sheet.
Cooking the Fries
  1. Bake the fries for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are crispy.
Cooking the Steak
  1. Rub the steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Let them rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side until charred and an internal temperature of 135°F for medium-rare.
Cooking the Garlic Shrimp
  1. In a separate skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
Assembly
  1. Serve the steak alongside the garlic shrimp and arrange the crispy fries around them. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a special touch, pair this dish with a crisp green salad and a glass of red wine. The Surf & Turf can be stored in the fridge for 3 days.
