  • 2 pieces beef steaks, sliced Look for steaks labeled as fresh, with good marbling.
  • 1 cup cooked white rice Can substitute with quinoa for a healthier option.
  • 1 piece ripe avocado, halved Should be creamy but firm for the best texture.
  • 1–2 pieces ripe plantains, sliced Choose plantains with yellow or brown peel for sweetness.
  • 1 cup coleslaw mix Can use store-bought to save prep time.
  • 2 tbsp soy or teriyaki sauce Tamari can be used for gluten-free version.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste Fresh parsley or cilantro For garnish.
  • to taste Salt & black pepper For seasoning the steak.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by cooking the rice according to your preferred method until fluffy.
  2. Season the beef steaks generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat a pan until hot, and sear the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  4. In another pan, heat the olive oil and fry the sliced plantains for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Slice the avocado and prepare the coleslaw mix.
Assembly
  1. Layer the warm rice in a bowl, followed by the steak, plantains, avocado, and slaw.
  2. Drizzle with soy or teriyaki sauce and garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro.

Notes

This dish is customizable based on personal preference. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge. For freezing, use a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
